The General Inspectorate of Border Police is the administrative authority, subordinated to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, which has the mission to implement the state policy in the field of integrated management of the state border of the Republic of Moldova in order to achieve its effective control by addressing the challenges related to risks and threats likely to compromise national security, thus contributing to the fight against cross-border crime, ensuring a high level of security, with full respect for fundamental rights, and ensuring at the same time, free movement of persons.
Role in ODYSSEUS project
Provide expertise in the following areas:
1. Surveillance and control of the state border crossing;
2. Maintaining the state border regime, the border area regime and the regime at the state border crossing points;
3. Combating illegal migration and cross-border crime.
