On 20 November 2024, more than 60 participants, including representatives from NGOs, CSOs, technology developers, ethics experts, and public authorities, came together for a pivotal workshop addressing the ethical and societal challenges of border security technologies. The event was a collaboration among ODYSSEUS and the synergy projects I-SEAMORE, FLEXI-Cross, and BAG-INTEL. It focused on aligning border management operations with societal values through engaging presentations, discussions, and actionable outcomes.
This online workshop aimed to:
- Address challenges related to the AI Act, privacy, and ethics in border security.
- Foster collaboration among diverse stakeholders to propose solutions for ethical and societal issues.
- Develop strategies for inclusive, rights-oriented security solutions.
