The ODYSSEUS project was invited to the 11th edition of the EAB Research Projects Conference, held from 23-25 September 2024 and organized by the European Association on Biometrics (EAB). The project was presented on the second day, 24 September 2024, by Dana Oniga, Project Manager at SIMAVI, the Project’s Coordinator. The presentation focused on the innovative Border Management solutions developed in ODYSSEUS, particularly the integration of advanced Biometrics techniques.
The conference was organized by EAB with contributions from the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (DG-JRC) and support from DG HOME, Fraunhofer IGD, and Halmstad University. The main topics discussed included AI and Biometrics and their applications in EU security research and innovation (R&I), particularly in identity verification, document security, and travel facilitation. These technologies are central to the ODYSSEUS project, which is being developed in collaboration with partners like QBE and Thales.
In total, 14 EU-funded projects were presented during the event, which also featured representatives from DG-HOME and DG-CNECT.
